The DC Alumni Association will be recognizing notable, local alumni each month.

Jing Guo, PhD’13 in health economics, serves at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where she supports research and evidence synthesis on health care delivery and improvement as the program officer. She also conducts research on health care systems performance and was recognized with the Agency Director’s Award for Excellence for developing and launching the first national data resource developed specifically to support research on health systems.


Prior to her public service, Jing was an economist at the American Institutes for Research, where she led a series of studies on improving care and well-being for older adults and people with disabilities. Her work has been published as high-impact journal articles and was reported in the media, including Forbes.


In her free time, she loves serving in the local church and communities. As a former violist of the University of Chicago Symphony Orchestra, she continues to play viola and performs with a variety of chamber music ensembles. Originally from Beijing, she also enjoys traveling, hiking and playing tennis.
