Arena Stage Performance of "The Right to be Forgotten"
Join us for "The Right to be Forgotten" at Arena Stage, directed by Seema Sueko, AM'95.
***SOLD OUT: To secure our deeply discounted pricing, alumni must purchase tickets to this October 31 performance by Friday, August 9, 2019.***
From Arena Stage: "The internet never forgets. A young man’s mistake at 17 haunts him online a decade later. Desperate for a normal life, he goes to extraordinary lengths to erase his indiscretion. But freedom of information is big business, and the tech companies aren’t going down without a fight. Secrets, lies and political backstabbing abound in this riveting new drama about one man’s fierce battle to reclaim his right to privacy." Directed by Seema Sueko, AM'95.
Playwright Sharyn Rothstein (“By the Water,” USA Network’s “Suits”), winner of the prestigious 2015 Primus Prize and whose work has been called “touching and affecting” (New York Times), has written a striking allegory about privacy, social media and human forgiveness in the age of the internet. Time Out New York has also described Rothstein’s work as “a force of nature.”
Following the performance, director Seema Sueko will lead a special discussion for her fellow UChicago alumni and our guests. Please note that this will be the only opportunity this year to meet with fellow alumna and director Seema Sueko and cast members, so don't miss out!
Alumni are receiving special pricing at $59.25 per ticket, a substantial discount from the regular ticket price of $80. However, only 10 seats are available at the discounted price.
Unfortunately, due to rapid ticket sales at Arena Stage, you must purchase your tickets by Friday, August 9, 2019, in order to guarantee a spot. No more ticket sales will be allowed after that date for the October 31 performance.
This will be our last chance to see a play at Arena Stage for 2019!
Finally, don't forget to complete your experience. As a group, University of Chicago alumni can save 20 percent at the Arena Stage's parking garage and 40 percent at their onsite cafe, Richard's Place, when purchased in advance. For individual reservations for parking and in the cafe, alumni may call Bria Hall at (202) 488-4380.
