Two Trains Running is the seventh play in The Pittsburgh Cycle by the acclaimed Pulitzer-winning playwright, August Wilson, which was recently called “Perfection…A work by a writer at the peak of his powers,” by Variety magazine. This play is a co-production with the Seattle Repertory Theatre.

According to the Arena Stage website, the play takes place in 1969 when “…the Civil Rights Movement is sending tremors through Pittsburgh’s Hill District. At the center of the community is Memphis Lee’s diner, slated to be demolished — a casualty of the city’s renovation project. Confronted with a rapidly changing world, Memphis and his regular customers struggle to maintain their solidarity and sense of pride. From Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson comes this masterpiece about everyday lives in the shadow of great events, and of unsung citizens who are anything but ordinary.”

The New York Times describes the play as “Mr. Wilson's most adventurous and honest attempt to reveal the intimate heart of history.”

Tickets are being offered at the discounted rate of $49.00. The performance runs 2 hours and 35 minutes including a 15 minute intermission. Please purchase your ticket via the link. We are limited to 20 tickets, so please buy your ticket early to ensure the opportunity to attend this special event. Tickets will be available under your name at Will Call the night of the performance. Please note that we will be seated in the second row from the stage!

For those of you who are interested in attending the dinner with Ms. Sueko prior to the performance at 6:15 pm, we will contact ticket holders one week prior to the performance to obtain dinner reservations at the Arena Stage Theatre. Dinner will be self-pay. This will be a unique opportunity to speak one-on-one with the Deputy Artistic Director, Ms. Sueko, and obtain her insightful perspective regarding the play. We hope you'll join us!
